It was our first movie in Perth and after a super duper long while, think it's like 3 months, ever since we left Singapore in January, we have been deprived of going to the movies, other than catching them on the tv, an okay substitute I must say, can't really complain. (Better not complain here ah... hee!)
I got 2 tixs for the Outdoor Cinema from work, coz the jewellers won Retailer of the month in February and we kept the tixs especially for last night as they were showing Sandra Bullock's Oscar winning, "The Blind Sight." A little aside here, she has been and still is my favourite actress! ;P
We thought we had a good deal as last night, they were actually showing two movies, "The Blind Sight" and then "Valentine's Day" - two of the movies that I really wanted to watch. However, we overlooked the fact that it was gonna be coooolllldddd. We knew it was going to be 13 degrees but we just didn't realise how chilly it was actually going to be. There we were, equipped only with our picnic chairs and a jacket each. For me, I was actually shivering as I felt quite a few cold rushes, at one point, Ivan passed me his wolly jacket to keep me warm (awww...so sweet) but it didn't really help though, I was still feeling coooollllllllldddddddd... In the end, when the wonderful, meaningful movie ended, we decided not to stay for the second movie, I sure did not want us to become frozen, it seemed like ICE AGE out there. Amidst all the negativity, the plus point has got to be, it was a real enjoyable experience, and for once, it was really "Movie under the Stars"; there was Orion's belt twinkling so brightly in the sky - oh, have I told you? I have resolved to learn more about stars so that I could appreciate the sparkly night skies that we have here.
It was indeed our overlook, our blind sight, as we looked around, many people brought their cushions, fleece blankets, thermos flask with hot drink, wine and torches, all the things you need to make your picnic at the movies complete, as well as of coz, to keep yourself warm. I must say that as this was our first time, I felt we were indeed underpacked, perhaps we would have felt much better and lasted for the second movie if we were more prepared. But oh well, we learn something new everyday.
I was defrosting a great deal in the car, even turned on the airconditioning to emit hot air instead, never realised the importance of that function till we came here too, or rather, we never needed it back in Singapore. Even when we got home, the hot green tea that Ivan made still did not help much, I was still shaking in the cold. Finally, with a quilt over me, all clad in a wolly jumper zipped to my neck (thanks Adel for the Marks and Spencer black jumper, it was my saving grace) plus a long denim jacket that Ivan bought me years ago when we were dating and wearing tights and socks, I fell sound asleep on the couch. I must have been exhausted as being a light sleeper, I did not even remember hearing Ivan waking me to go to bed. He said this morning that he knew I would not have the energy to shower so he just wanted me to be warm under the covers but eeeeeeeeekkkkkk, luckily I did not blindly follow him or I would have regretted, dirty me sleeping in my clean, comfy bed. Oh, the thought of my beauty sleep beckons, but I gotta go get ready for Mass so till the next entry... but be warned, brace yourselves for there is lots more to come - all the backdated entries while our dear family and friend was here last two weeks. :)
