The Car Hunt continues...

Have to tell you all about our experience with a car salesman. We met up to view a Nissan Pulsar which was quite a good drive. From the outside, the car looked ooookay too except for a few scratches here but it ends there. The interior was quite a sight (okay, it's not that bad...but just not well-maintained). The middle compartment between the front seats where u keep stuff was spoilt, the car was quite dusty and dirty, the aircon only worked barely at power 4 (the highest by the way) and wait till you find out, there were blood stains on the car door and some weird markings near the windscreen on the right.

Our first viewing was yesterday and I was quite okay with it despite all the stuff I mentioned above. However, Ivan had a nagging feeling, just felt not right. Perhaps I was in denial (maybe a little desperate to get a car of our own) but I thought it was quite a good drive. The car salesman agreed to re-gas the airconditioning and clean up the car a bit for us after the test drive. Thus, we went back to take a look today. It looked a little better, although the blood and weird stains were still there. Ivan was saying that it probably cant be wipped off but I thought a quick use of GIF will settle things. Think the guy was just not detailed enough to ensure everything was nice and dandy.

We asked to see the log book (which listed the history of servicing) - hee, a must-do on the list of many tips to look out for when purchasing a car (tips that we picked up along the way). What he gave us were two receipts for servicing done 2 and 3 years ago respectively as well as a sloppy print out report of the inavailability of full service history of the car. And then he went on to tell us that the owner of the car had passed away. Gosh, imagine how I felt when I heard that! My heart just sank! I finally understood what Ivan meant about the heavy heart and unexplainable feeling. Plus, I thought the car had a funny smell, sthg I didn't notice yesterday.

Since we were there, we decided to just drive it around the estate for a while. Oh yah, he even suggested to us that we take the car back for a day, drive it around to see if we like it! I bet he was trying to make us grow attached to the car and also feel obliged for his niceness that we will just get it. I think he was just very desperate to sell the car.

In the end, we didn't get the car and we are back to square one but m more cool about it then before coz I realise the numerous things I never knew about cars before and am learning so much along the way. Now that I feel so knowledgeable, hopefully God will present the car before us soon... ;)
