5 more days...

Yup, that's the countdown to our coming back to Singapore. :)

Just a quick update, I had an interview with a jeweller in the city on Monday, thanks to a recommendation from my fren's aunt. It was for the position of Admin and Operations Coordinator, feel I'm ready to make the career switch coz seriously cannot imagine teaching the "ang mo" kiddos. For one, my accent would be difficult for them to understand, plus the fact that I still need to do a bridging course...dun think they would seriously consider my EL teaching qualification too which is shitty coz in their words, I'm not a native speaker of EL. Arrrrggghh!

Also, so far, the encounters with the students here have not been too nice. Take for instance, there was once when we were taking a bus back and it was just dismissal time. The bus was packed with rowdy students. They even shouted to the bus driver and told him not to stop the bus at the next bus stop for their school mates! No wonder the buses here have a "cage" sort of thing for the driver, so that there can be no physical contact, think there must hv been abuses before...

Well back to my story, yeah so I am ready to take up the job and am just waiting for them to reply me positively. They have not yet given their answer after the interview I had and am just waiting earnestly. Please keep me in your prayers.

Enough about me, as for Ivan, he wrote another email to the Prof at UWA in charge of the PHD prg to tell her abt our situation and to ask if it's possible to take up any work position before the PHD while I find a job and all. The prof is a real nice lady as she told him to take his time to decide and that she understands the situation and even added that the position is always there for him. Perhaps God wants me to have a "doc" husband! hee! He has had no luck with the rest of the jobs though. However, he will be meeting up with a recruitment agent tom, hopefully sthg good will blossom from that.

Whatever His will is for us, I have to admit that it has been a fruitful month here in Perth. Relaxing no doubt but stressful at times coz of negative or no replies, but we have been real thankful and grateful for the encounters, experiences and wonderful people He sent our way. (Of coz there were some not-so-nice pple but hey, we can't have the best of all worlds yah?) Many thanks to all for your concern, luv, comments and prayers, what would we do without you guys?:)
